This is me reading 'Please Rush Me', my poem from 'The Iron Book of New Humorous Verse', published by Iron Press.

  1. Hi Janis,
I had the same thrill last week, with the arrival of the Iron Book. Not the sort of book you would lose in the dark.

I enjoyed Please Rush Me and it's even better to see you reading it here.

If you can't make the launch (and neither can I) they are intending to do another event in London, early next year. Maybe I will see you there.

    Best wishes, Rod.

  2. Congratulations Janis! It's a great poem and made me smile and smile.... Iron Press are a brilliant local press, I live over in Cumbria and just wish that we had such a rich lit scene as you do over there.
Like you I've had to ditch WordPress. Not just because of the videos, but also I began to get lots of spam. Blogger is great!

  3. Thanks for stopping by, Roderic and Kathleen.

Roderic, I may get over to the UK next year, but it's more likely to be during the New Zealand winter/ English summer, so I will probably miss the London launch. Hope it goes well! Nice to meet another Iron Press humorous poet - I love your idea of returning life to its pre-backup state!

Kathleen, you're very kind! And we are indeed very lucky to have such a strong poetry/lit scene at the moment, particularly in Wellington.
